Questions, answered

The things parents and students ask most. If yours isn't here, call, text, or email — a real person answers.

Getting started

Is the first session really free?

Yes — a full one-on-one session with a matched tutor, not a sales call and not a shortened trial. There's no card required and no obligation to continue.

How do I book?

Fill in the contact form with the grade, subject, and what's been hard, or call or text (289) 813-6399. We'll come back with a tutor match and times.

What happens in the first session?

The tutor finds out where the student actually is — not where the course says they should be — and works on whatever is most urgent. By the end you'll both have a clear sense of what regular sessions would focus on.

Sessions

Are sessions online or in person?

Either. Online sessions run over video with a shared whiteboard; in-person sessions are available locally. You can pick when you book, and switch later if something changes.

How long and how often are sessions?

Both are set with you when you book, based on the grade level and what you're working toward. Younger students usually do better with shorter, more frequent sessions; exam prep often wants longer ones.

Does a parent need to be there?

Not during the session — most students focus better one-on-one. For younger students we'll check in with you afterward on what we covered and what to watch for.

Is this homework help, or teaching ahead?

Both, in that order. We start with what's actually due so there's relief, then work on the gap underneath it so the same problem stops coming back.

Tutors & subjects

Who are the tutors?

Accomplished students who recently excelled in the courses they teach — recently enough to remember exactly what was hard about them. Meet them here.

What if the tutor isn't the right fit?

Tell us and we'll match someone else. That's part of why the intro session is free — so you can find out before you've paid for anything.

Do you cover my specific course?

Most likely. The subjects page lists the most requested ones, but it isn't the full list — ask about your course and we'll tell you straight whether we have the right tutor for it.

Pricing & scheduling

How much does it cost?

Rates are tailored by grade level, subject, and goals rather than published as one flat list, because a Grade 3 reading session and a third-year calculus session aren't the same work. Tell us the details and you'll get a specific number.

When do I pay?

After the free intro session, once you've decided to continue. The rate is confirmed in writing before the first paid session.

What if we need to cancel or reschedule?

Let your tutor know as early as you can and we'll move it. We'd rather reschedule than have a student sit through a session they can't focus in.

Still have a question? Call or text (289) 813-6399, or send it over and we'll answer honestly.
